Korean War
Korean War
The end of World War II brought tension between the Soviet Union and the United States. America's foreign policy focused on stopping the Soviet Union from spreading communism to Europe and all over the world. The first battle abroad to stop the spread of communism was the Korean War. In 1945, the Soviet Union invaded Korea which had been under Japan's control before that. The United States came into Southern Korea to stop them from taking over the entire peninsula. Japanese troops surrendered to Russians in the north and gave into Americans in the south. The M1 Garand was used in the Korean war to halt the spread of communism.
